Looking through the Blaine MLS listings this morning I was astounded that homebuyers in Blaine can actually spend less than $100,000 for a home. That’s definitely cheaper than renting.

If you’re downsizing or this will be your first home and your budget is tight, take a look at the following houses for sale in Blaine.

This home is adorable from the outside but the listing agent was a bit stingy with interior photos, so who knows? The interior could be just as charming or it could be a disaster. We haven’t viewed this home yet so I can’t tell you.

1. Ask for their DOT Number

DOT stands for Department of Transportation, the licensing agency for all moving companies. You’ll find a database of DOT numbers on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s website, here. Enter the company’s DOT number to check its license status.

2. Is the company insured?

Sadly, many Minnesota moving companies don’t carry insurance. Crazy, right? You can verify insurance coverage on

We’re pretty proud of the schools that our kids attend here in Blaine so we highlight one every month here BlaineHomes.com. Newcomers may not realize that Blaine’s kids attend schools administered by three different districts:

  • Anoka-Hennepin
  • Centennial
  • Spring Lake Park

Our city is also home to a number of charter and private schools.

Jefferson Elementary

This month, BlaineHomes.com is featuring Jefferson Elementary, in the Anoka-Hennepin School District, otherwise known as ISD 11.

While Team Lindahl certainly wouldn’t be opposed to selling a haunted house, we think that, at least at this time of year, it’s more fun to visit them. But our haunted attractions aren’t just houses, but cornfields, basements and more.

Terrorfest, Blaine

Blaine has its very own haunted maze, Terrorfest, now in its eighth year and it opens this year on October 9 at 7 p.m. Hours will be Fridays from 8 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the 18th and again on November 1 they’ll hold kids hour from 5 to 7 p.m. Find Terrorfest at 793 Oak Ridge Pt.
