Last spring, the ISD 15 School Board voted and approved a five-year plan and funding for developments in the St. Francis School District. This plan included approving Transformation Systems, LLC as the vendor for the projects. Here are some of the things that can be expected in the near future.
The World Cafe Event
On September 24th, the ISD 15 hosted an event to get ideas from the community for the future of the district. Some of the questions asked had to do with the qualities of the graduates of St. Francis High School, along with the upcoming challenges for the next few years.
From the community feedback the district staff and community members were split into three teams to work on a vision statement and goals for the development of the plan. The teams include:
- Measurement Design
- Core Planning
- Action Planning
Members of the teams include teachers, employees, parents, students and administrators. Along with these team members, some form outside the community help to represent businesses, the faith community, local government and more.
The Core Planning Team will kick things off by coming up with a set of goals and a mission statement. Once they are done, the Action Planning Team will put together a strategy and a timeline for the projects necessary. Finally, the Measurement Design Team will determine how well the district is doing as they work toward the goals.
The first step will be completing and presenting the strategic plan to the school board. This will happen in May of 2015 and details about how the approved funding will be used will become available then.
In the meantime, it's important to note that all three teams will work together to provide a plan to further student success. This plan will be all about creating a better environment for learning and the success of the students in the St. Francis School District.
