If you’re considering relocating to Blaine, MN, you’re not alone. Blaine has added almost 12,000 new residents in the past decade and continues to grow in population.

Why are people flocking to Blaine? Aside from the fact that this medium-sized city is located within 30 minutes of the Twin Cities, it offers excellent schools, amazing recreational opportunities and manages to maintain a small-town atmosphere.

Blaine Schools

Minnesota offers parents an open enrollment opportunity. What this means is that your children aren’t locked into attending a particular school due to its proximity to where you live. Many parents choose to send their children to schools closer to their work, to make drop off and pickup more convenient.

That said, the city of Blaine is served by three school districts:

  • Spring Lake Park
  • Anoka-Hennepin
  • Centennial

Roosevelt Middle School and Blaine Senior High School (both in the Anoka-Hennepin district) are the recipients of the “distinguished” designation.

Recreational Opportunities in Blaine

Any list of recreational opportunities in Blaine must be topped by The National Sports Center, which garnered certification from the Guiness Book of World’s Records as housing the largest soccer complex on earth.

Then there’s the Victory Links Golf Course, the only PGA-Tour course that is open to the public in the state of Minnesota.

The National Sports Center is also home to the largest ice arena in the world – The Schwan Super Rink. You’ll also find baseball, football, cycling and more.

Add to these the plethora of parks in the neighborhoods and you’ve got one active community.
