Relocating to Blaine

Posted on Friday, April 25th, 2014 at 12:05pm.

If you’re considering relocating to Blaine, MN, you’re not alone -- the city has grown 27.24 percent since 2000. As Blaine residents we know why people want to live here. The commute to the Twin Cities is quick; we have strong schools and ample recreational opportunities.

Blaine Schools

Let’s start with our schools. Many newcomers to the state don’t realize that Minnesota offers parents lots of choices when it comes to which schools their children will attend. While the child will initially be assigned to a school based on your address, open enrollment policies allow you to choose another district or school if you prefer.

In Blaine, kids attend classes in one of three districts – depending on what part of town they live in -- Spring Lake Park, Centennial and Anoka-Hennepin.

Blaine Highlights

Those of us that live in Blaine are rather proud of the National Sports Center. It has even been recognized by the “Guinness Book of World’s Records” as housing the largest soccer complex on earth.

Victory Links Golf Course, the only PGA-Tour course that is open to the public in the state of Minnesota, is located at the Center, as is the largest ice arena on earth – Schwan Super Rink.

You’ll hear the letters TPC a lot when you first hit town. They stand for “Tournament Players Club” and Blaine is proud to be home to a TPC course -- Minnesota's only private PGA TOUR-owned property.

I’m a member there so if you golf and you plan on relocating to Blaine, contact me for more information on the TPC.

Homes in Blaine

For a while there Blaine led the state in the amount of new housing starts. We have a number of new communities in the works right now and more to come. So if you’re dreams run to a newly constructed home, Blaine is the place to house hunt.

One of the things I like best about showing property to newcomers is the diversity of our neighborhoods. Whether you want to live on the shores of a lake, have a golf course-view or see the woods from your windows, you’ll find a home situated appropriately.

Real estate markets change daily and prices fluctuate but, as of today, there are a little more than 300 homes for sale in Blaine. Prices range from $79,000 to almost $18.5 million.
